Would you want to customize your child?
Today in science we were learning about how scientists can now take away certain diseases and choice the sex of the baby all before it’s born. We also learned about how the science of doing this is just increasingly getting better and in a few years we might even be able to choose the height, eye color, hair color, and even maybe personality traits. I have just been thinking about this a lot. I don’t really know how I feel about this. I mean in some cases I think it would be a good idea like if it prevented them from getting a horrible disease that would be passed through genetics then I think it could be a good idea. But I don’t know how I feel about parents choosing how the child will physically or maybe even emotionally be. Like think of it as you being a kid who was just chosen to be that way. Your parents wanted you to be this exact way and now you are. To me it would make me feel completely unoriginal and feel like a science project or even a material item that you could just make whatever you wanted it. Sometimes I think science is going in directions and getting more accurate in not very necessary ways that could alter life for everyone not in a good way.
